FS Course 402 - Learning the Data in the FS Query Data Base

Using the FS QDB data

To properly use the Financial System Query Data Base, it is important to first "learn the data." As you are introduced to the many data objects and their table attributes, the three questions listed below may come to mind. Click each to find the answers and be guided through the supporting training material. These pages will help you gain a basic understanding of the FS-QDB so you can begin querying balance, transaction, and description table information for your operational hierarchy and chart of accounts.

1. How does the FS QDB get its data? How long is it retained?

2. What do I need to know about the data to build a successful ad-hoc query?

3. How to reconcile an ad-hoc query to the official book of record?
