The School of Public Health educates leaders for private and public health systems, conducts research to improve conditions for a health society and provides related health-care services to the community. The school consistently is ranked among the top schools of public health in the nation.
Learning opportunities available to students through the school's five departments include biostatistics, environmental-health sciences, epidemiology, health services and community-health sciences. The School awards the M.P.H., M.S., Dr.P.H. and Ph.D. degrees. The D.Env. degree also is awarded by the School’s multidisciplinary Environmental Science and Engineering Program, and a M.S. is awarded in preventive medicine and public health.
The School of Public Health is distinguished by the breadth of its programs and its leadership in moving public-health training into the community, and with students gaining experience at community-health centers, government agencies and in the health-care industry. The school also has a unique part-time program that affords working public-health professionals the opportunity to earn a M.P.H. degree.
