The School's five departments -- biostatistics, community-health sciences, environmental health sciences, epidemiology and health services --award the M.P.H., M.S., Dr.P.H. and Ph.D. degrees.

Other degree programs include the D.Env., offered by the  interdepartmental  Environmental Science and Engineering Program, and combined degree programs with business, medicine, and several area studies programs on campus.   The School houses residency programs in preventive medicine and in occupational medicine.  Additionally, two departments have a part-time MPH program for working professional.  There are 11 centers in the School, many of which are shared with other units on campus, conducting research and policy-relevant work.

The School of Public Health is distinguished by the breadth and interdisciplinary nature of its degree programs, its research on significant public-health problems, and its role in working with communities in addressing these concerns.
